Larry Bortles

The consulting team we organize for a client will be led by Las Vegas-based Larry Bortles, who has prepared equity offerings for over $87 million of equity offerings. These included $11.5 million for cannabis ventures since 2014, in both Canada and the USA. For 18 months during this period he was the Executive Chairman and CEO of a Toronto-based publicly held cannabis company created by a RTO on the Canadian Stock Exchange in late 2016. Its operations were vertically integrated, with a Licensed grow division; an 11-clinic medical cannabis counseling division with more than 12,000 patients; and a medical cannabis data collection and reporting group. While there, Bortles raised C$8.6 million for the company in a private placement that he prepared.
Prior to focusing upon the legal cannabis industry, Larry was a professional real estate owner, developer and manager. Using his considerable economic modeling skills and proprietary analytical software he:
- Created, funded and managed 19 different cannabis and real estate investment ventures, with debt and equity placements exceeding $1 billion in today’s dollar terms; and
- Actively engaged in feasibility analysis, development management and financing for complex development projects exceeding $18 billion in current value.

Crawford Grimsley
Grow, Processing & Dispensary Expert
Crawford has been active in the cannabis industry for over 10 years as a grower and has extensive industry knowledge and connections. His professional experience as a cannabis cultivator began in 2008. During the subsequent years he managed more than 1,000 grow lights, harvested over 1 million sf of canopy space, and produced more than $15 million in revenue.
Recently, he developed and is currently operating a 9,000 sf indoor cannabis grow facility, a 5,000 sf medical grade cannabis extraction lab, and a 5,000 sf cannabis distribution center in Oakland, CA.
He is also the Managing Director of JW Investments LLC, established to produce cannabis edibles in an 8,000 sf facility in Oakland, California.

He was formerly a Partner at Preston Gates & Ellis after 14 years with Morrison & Foerster and Howard, Rice (now Arnold & Porter).
